Substance Abuse and Co-Occurring Disorders

Our inpatient detoxification and substance use disorder program is medically supervised for individuals with alcohol and drug addiction. This short-term substance abuse rehabilitation program addresses medical and psychiatric factors associated with dependency. After completing our inpatient substance use disorder treatment program, our staff will help the patient find additional mental health services in DC, or the surrounding area, to continue their recovery. The average length of stay is approximately 7 days for those receiving inpatient treatment.

The Treatment team will team connect you with a peer recovery coach and additional programs to help support you upon discharge from the hospital.

As of January 2020, the Psychiatric Institute of Washington will accept DC Medicaid in addition to all previously accepted insurances. For more information about our programs, please visit our contact us page.
